Ma Teng has to decide between allying with Liu Yao/Zhang or Han Sui and Dong Zhou. Sun Jian should try to befriend Shi Xie and his vassals. Liu Bei and Kong Rong typically should try to befriend each other because they have more powerful and aggressive factions elsewhere to handle. Being at war with their friends tends to drag them into conflict. Not to mention, see which faction are friendly to factions near you, and be aware of them. If there's a river or Mountains between your territory and your target, you probably shouldn't capture it yet.Ī few areas are Pengcheng Town, Taishan's Commandery w/ Dong Town, Zang Ke Commandery, Jiangling Commandery, Lujiang Commandery w/o fishing port. Don't capture territory past that set, sue for peace and look at another direction to expand. Don't beeline in one direction because that would make you easy to attack, look for places where the roads all lead to a set of easily defendable settlements. ![]() In regards to when to expand, try to expand until corruptions start ticking up. While your starting units may be good, but don't be afraid to disband them, because by mid-game, you will have 1 commandery that allows you to recruit rank 4 reforms units that are usually better than your starting units. Try to aim for 1 full stack of militia units for offense and let the garrisons assist your heroes in defense. Winning battles is how you should make money for upgrading buildings. That income should be used for maintaining armies like you are doing. Your early economy do not depend in the passive income you make. My advice is for Hard Campaign/Hard Battle Tl:dr I need help with this game, any tips are what I'm looking for please dont try to answer everything if you dont want toĬould you tell us which faction and what difficulty you are playing? Judging from your information, your issue stems from early game survival. Reforms: I'm sure it depends on who you're playing but it's hard to distinguish which is going to give you the better benefit or what to focus on. Prestige: What's the meta with this? Should I be rushing it? How do you earn it the fastest? Also not sure if you should always keep a fully stacked army on hand or get rid of some retinues when you know you're not going to fight. Missile units seem weak in general and that was always my go-to, maybe I'm just using them wrong. Having way too much trouble trying to micro everything and cycle charge my Cav while maintaining formations. Do I expand a lot all at once and take a lot of territory, or do I wait and build up what I have and then expand once that happens.īattles: How do I win basically. With battles being said as well I'm not sure when to expand. I'm not sure if I should be relying on a good economy or winning battles to get a steady income. I've played lots of Warhammer and Warhammer 2 but it's very different.Įconomy/Expansion: I'm dont understand what buildings I should be going for, and always end up with a very small profit per turn having trouble even fielding one army in the early mid game. I'm going to break this down into a couple parts.įor reference I've picked up this game a couple days ago and already really like it, but it's hard as heck. ![]() I've tried my hand watching 20 minute tips and guide videos on YouTube or reading specific guides for who you're playing but its just so much information throw at you at once.
